Stone Island has presented its Fall/Winter 019/020 Shadow Project collection, which sees a departure from the more militaristic collections of the past.
The Stone Island Shadow Project line (7119) has received mixed reviews online despite featuring some innovative fabrics and technical garments.
While the new collection is a little less military-inspired this time around, there are some military-inspired highlights.
The standout military-inspired pieces from the collection include a quilted fishtail parka, crewneck with catch pocket, an inverted bomber jacket and printed leather slip-on boots.
Stone Island is an innovator in fabrics and dying techniques introducing some intriguing camouflage prints in recent times.
In terms of materials, this latest incarnation is equally innovative with the introduction of ‘dual grid nylon’.
The new garment-dyed two-layer fabric is constructed from micro rip-stop polyurethane, which is then layered onto another rip-stop nylon layer for an extremely durable and textured finish.
Another fabric, DPM Chiné features an unusual rip-stop blend of wool and polyester.
