Actor and producer Michael B. Jordan has teamed up with Coach for a unisex collection featuring some classic military-inspired apparel and bags.
Fresh off his successful performance as ‘Killmonger’ in Black Panther, ‘MBJ’ has turned his hand to fashion design.
The collection is Jordan’s first foray into fashion design and from initial reactions it looks like he hit it out of the park, with a collection inspired by the famous Japanese manga, Naruto.
Military highlights of the collection include a bomber-inspired jackets and cargo pants.
While there is also a reversible parka with a camouflage lining and backpack straps.
The collection is being celebrated in Japan and Malaysia with popups, while there will be a dedicated ‘Coach Experience’ booth featuring the collection at New York Comic-Con on October 3-6th.
The Coach x Michael B. Jordan collection is available online at Coach.com and in stores but is selling out fast.
Across parkas, denim jackets and hybrid sneaker boots, the Black Panther star draws upon the graphic codes of the Naruto world to create a unisex capsule of functional staples.
The technical hand of Coach’s creative director Stuart Vevers allows for the introduction of details like removable sleeves and elastic closures, contemporary references to the brand’s reputation for high craftsmanship and technique.
