Iconic Vans trio released in 'Camo Check'

Vans Authentic in 'Camo Check'

Vans has dropped a trio of classic silhouettes featuring a fusion of checkerboard and camouflage

The Vans checkerboard motif is one of the most recognizable and iconic Vans designs.

Originally featured only on slip ons, the geometric pattern was originally released way back in the 1970s.

Vans first got the idea for the design after Steve Van Doren (son of Vans founder Paul Van Doren) saw kids in California coloring in the white rubber on the shoe in a checkerboard style.

Since then it has become an iconic Vans design and featured on numerous silhouettes over the years.

Sean Penn can be seen wearing the iconic checkerboard slip-ons in the hit movie ”Fast Times at Ridgemont High,” in 1982.

Now the checkerboard design is back and being fused with another popular Vans print, camouflage across three popular Vans styles.

The Vans Old Skool, Vans Authentic, and Vans Slip-On all see the new design which features a rich earthy brown and pale tan camo contrasting well with the black checkerboard print.

All three feature the classic Vans crisp white midsole and durable gum outsole. Check out more of the Camo Check in the gallery below:

The Vans check-pack is available now online or from select retailers.
