The new Brooklyn NETS City Edition jerseys for the 2019-20 NBA regular season are a tribute to slain Brooklyn rapper Biggie Smalls.
Brooklyn’s most famous son and arguably the greatest rapper to ever pick up the mic is the inspiration behind the new City Edition jerseys of the NBA Nets.
“Live from Bedford Stuyvesant, the livest one, representing BK to the fullest.
Biggie was always known to represent the Brooklyn borough of his birth and the Nets have again returned the favour. “BED-STUY” is emblazoned across the chest with the Nets’ 2019-20 Nike City Edition uniform representing the neighborhood’s storied history, its lasting impact in music, art, & culture, and the icon who put it on the map. The BED-STUY mark was designed by renowned Brooklyn artist Eric Haze.
Similar to last year’s design, a multi-color “Brooklyn Camo” pattern runs along the neck and down the sleeves.
The multicolour camo contrasts well with the crisp white base of the jerseys and is are sure to be a hit not only with Nets fans.
The Nets will wear the uniform on court for the first time on Friday, November 29 vs. the Boston Celtics at noon. The team will wear the uniform for 28 games this season. Check out more images in the gallery below:
